The Christmas Tag 2020

Today’s Friday post is a little different. I was tagged earlier this week by Jeanine from the jeaninesgingerbreadcottage and I must say it made me feel validated. My blog is really new and even though I have a few following, I feel like my blog is usually skimmed or passed through but I appreciate all the support my blog has received since it’s inception. Thanks Jeanine for tagging me. I’m really excited about answering these questions.

The Ten Original Christmas Tag Questions

When do your decorations go up?

I still spend Christmas with my mother and the rest of the family so I don’t decorate because I spend Christmas away from home. My mother starts decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Who is the Scrooge of your family or friendship group?

My Uncle! He actually says bah humbug each year lol but he still exchanges gifts with us and joins us for Christmas dinner.

If money were no object, how and where would you spend Christmas?

I would still spend Christmas with my mother and family.

What festive film do you HAVE to watch every festive season?

Home Alone is my favorite.

Who do you find hardest to buy presents for?

Everyone that’s not a child lol. I feel like as a adults, if there’s something we want, we will likely purchase it for ourselves. Or maybe I’m the only one who does that lol.

Would you rather buy lots of little presents for a hamper, or by one big/main present?

One main big present. I feel like it can be the gift that someone REALLY needs.

What did you leave out for Santa when you were a child?

We didn’t do Santa. My mom told us right away that she was the one who bought our gifts.

Where did you spend last Christmas?

At my moms house.

Which Christmas song makes you cringe?

hhmmmm, I don’t think there is one. I’ll have to give this some thought.

If you could be a character in a holiday movie, who would you be and why?

Santa Claus in Christmas Chronicles lol. I love the modern twist that they put on his costume. It was bad ass.

Have you and your family ever bought matching clothes or pajamas to wear while opening gifts?

No but I would love for us to it one year

I have a long history with mental illness. Overcoming depression made me realize my own resilience. It also made it clear that I wasn’t taking care of myself. I believe that in order for us to fully engage with ourselves and others we have to make time for self-love through our self-care habits. My goal with this blog is to encourage women in my age group to make time for self-care daily.

  1. That was wonderful! I love the questions you chose, too. My favorite Christmas memory with my family of origin was opening presents, then watching Miracle on 34th street while my mom made pancakes and bacon. Yum! But my favorite Christmas with my son happened the year I found a gift for him I knew he would LOVE! Seeing his face when he opened it – because he wasn’t expecting it – was everything!!

    1. What wonderful memories jeanine. The best Christmas gift I ever received was when I spent my first Christmas in America, it was a Nintendo game system. It’s hard to select my favorite Christmas memory because it’s literally every Christmas I get to spend with my family.
